The Fort Lewis Mesa Fire Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of KG Lockwood as the new Fort Lewis Mesa Fire Chief. Lockwood will assume his new duties Wednesday, December 19, 2012
Mr. Lockwood hails from New Hampshire where he currently serves as the Deputy Fire Chief for two rural fire departments, Farmington and New Durham. Lockwood has been working in fire and emergency services in NH for over 30 years. He has a strong background in wildland fire, mutual aid, and EMS, as well as structure protection.
“I’m excited to become the second full-time Chief for Fort Lewis Mesa and look forward to helping shape the future direction of the district,” said Lockwood.
Lockwood says he is familiar with the challenges of running a department with a small number of resources and enjoys finding creative solutions to keep the department moving forward.
KG, his wife Melanie, and their two dogs are very excited about their move to Colorado.
Lockwood replaces Steve Ebner who stepped down on Aug. 1, 2012, after almost 42 years in the fire service industry.
